Fall 2009

Well as hard as it is to believe summer is coming to a close and the Autumn Season is upon us. It felt like I just wrote our Spring and Summer Website Newsletter a minute ago and now we are actually going to talk about Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and so much more. For those who are regulars to our website welcome back, and for the newcomers we are glad to have you in our group of friends. If you join our Email list you will receive an email each week to update you on events, activites and specials we are offering at the lodge along with the entire Cook Forest area.

Scheduled Events and Holiday Specials for 2009 – 2010, here they are.

NOVEMBER 13 – 14, 2009 – SECOND ANNUAL DOG WHISPERER WEEKEND

Last year we started this with a local Brookville Veteranarian, Dr. Shields. Bonnie my technichian for my goldens is the trainor and coordinator who with her staff put together a great program for the "parents" of our dogs. We had everything from Jack Russells to Dobermans, golden retrievers and shepards and never a moment that friendships were not sealed. The guests left with a better understanding of their pets and their need, and pets that they could enjoy walking rather than being walked, quieted down when there was no reason to bark and socializing well with other pets. These are just a few of the great things that were accomplished that weekend.

Everyone is welcome for the weekend package, or just sign up for the training all day Saturday. We also will be raising awareness about PAWS, the organization that protects all animals and works hard on foster care and adoptions. With their support we will have dogs here to adopt as well with their foster parents.

Packages for the weekend will include, two nights lodging for you and your pets, dinner for two Saturday night and continental breakfast both mornings. Queen Rooms start at $309.00. For just the training on Saturday, it will be $50.00 per pet and that will include lunch and the personal training, a training hike and one on one with the Trainors and or Vets.

Two nights lodging with dinner both nights, breakfast both mornings with hot coffee for your thermos's, packed lunch and a warm comfortable bed. Rate based on singl occupancy in the lodge and double occupancy in the suites

New Years Eve Package (two night minimum)

Two night's lodging with dinner for two each evening, continental breakfast one morning and a hot breakfast buffet the second morning. We will have live entertainment on New Years Eve in our main lodge with a local D.J. We will ring in the New Year together with a champagne toast and then indulge ourselves in a midnight snack. Queen Room: $399.00

Valentines Package February 12 – 13th, 2010
One night February 14th (one night) Queen Room: $169.00
Two nights lodging with dinner two each evening, champagne and gift basket in your room upon arrival, half hour massage or half hour facial for each of you and continental breakfast both mornings. Queen Room: $446.00

CLARION RIVER LODGE AND O’DEAS IRISH PUB
SAINT PATRICKS DAY WEEKEND - March 12 – 13, 2010 (Two night minimum)

This is the one all of our Irish friends wait for and it will be here before you know it. This year St Pats falls through the week but we are celebrating the weekend before.

Start your weekend in the Pub with lots of Guinness and music. The next morning we will be mixing some Irish Bloody Mary’s to get you over the hump and prepared for our ANNUAL TEXAS HOLDEM MATCH. Our guests join in the Pub for a buffet lunch of Corn Beef and cabbage, Guinness pie and much more at 12:00 p.m. Then take your seats for a match that has become a lodge tradition and some people’s addiction. Winners receive over $750 in services here anytime of the year. After the match we will have complimentary appetizers in the pub for everyone. Our dinner specials that evening will be many or Irelands traditional favorites offered with some fine wine and cold beer. Then it is back to the Pub for more Irish Spirits and Irish music. Sunday morning finish off your weekend with a buffet breakfast fit for the Irish with eggs, sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes, cheeses, brown breads, blood puddings and hot coffee and tea. Queen Room: $359.00
